Hol Chan Marine Park

Here is a guest post from James Kelley from Escaping Abroad. He showed me some awesome underwater photos so I convinced him to let me post them. I’m always jealous when someone has been diving or snorkeling somewhere awesome that I haven’t!

–No trip to Belize would be complete without plunging yourself into the incredible Hol Chan Marine Reserve. It’s the #1 rated attraction on Trip Adviser and for good reason – snorkeling here is some of the best you can find anywhere in the world.IMG_2563
It is located just a few miles from Ambergris Caye or Caye Caulker in Belize and consisting of over 4,000 acres of coral reef and sea-grass; more than 150 different species of fish have been seen here.
I’ve been scuba diving and snorkeling in lots of places around the Caribbean and nowhere else have I seen such a large density of incredible sea life. Turtles, nurse sharks and rays are all plentiful and commonly seen.
I loved it so much I went back again 2 years after my first trip!
