Sunsets in Paradise: 18 Reasons to Visit The Florida Keys
Last year I toured around the Florida Keys, and it became one of my favorite places in all of The USA. I dove ship wrecks near Key Largo, took a sea plane to the beautiful Dry Tortuga Islands, ate incredible grub in Islamorada and, maybe my most favorite, got acquainted with the ultra weird and cool Key West, with its non-stop nightlife and street entertainers and breweries. One thing all these places have in common, besides warm weather and manatee mailboxes, is that they have incredible sunrises and sunsets. Its also one of the only places I have been that have BOTH sunsets and sunrises, from the same spots! We even got to take a very scenic seaplane ride to the beautiful Tortuga Islands, where we sat in the clear waters just off the white beach.
The tiny plane offered insanely pretty views of the islands and beaches, but I was mentally hoping my insurance was up to date, as the little plane bounced its way noisily back to the mainland. It was more beautiful than scary, thankfully. Being just a thin strip of islands, at the southern most point of US, you have unhindered views of the ocean both to the west and the east, offering beautiful solar visuals daily.
I shared a lot of these incredible sunrises and sunsets on my Instagram profile, but since it’s been a while since my visit to The Keys, the photos got buried. So I figured I would post them all here for you to see, to make you want to visit yourself! After I show some of my own, I will post some from my friend Briana, who lives and works down in the Key, and gets to see these sites everyday! Be sure to check out her Instagram, to see more great photos of the area!
